Lais Ribeiro’s Fourth SI Swim Feature Was Photographed in a Uniquely Beautiful California Destination

The model headed to Sacramento for her photo shoot in 2021.

Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro embarked on what would become a four feature stint with the SI Swimsuit team in 2017. That year, she traveled to Sumba Island, Indonesia for her debut with the brand. It was a fabulous trip, of course, earning her another photo shoot for the magazine the following year.

But today, we’re foregoing reflections on her first few photo shoots, which took her to far-flung tropical destinations. Instead, we’re taking a look back at her most recent feature in the annual issue: a 2021 trip to Sacramento, Calif.

The destination presented an interesting opportunity for Ribeiro and the brand. Rather than posing in a typically beautiful and tropic locale, she posed in her best swimwear in the picturesque countryside around the California destination.

Though different, the model appreciated the stunning details of the set. “The light is so beautiful,” she said while posing for her fourth brand feature. “In the morning as well, when the sun was reflecting on the water—[it] was so beautiful. The horses—it was a little bit scary, but when you see the results it was just so beautiful, so I’m really, really happy with the results.”

Ribeiro had every reason to be pleased with how the photos turned out—they were (and still are) absolutely breathtaking in our opinion. But more importantly, the model was grateful for the opportunity to work with the team again. “It’s ALWAYS a pleasure to work with such an amazing team,” she said on Instagram. “Proud of all the beautiful and strong women in it.”
