Dutch Model Marloes Horst Posed in Nothing but a Seashell During Her SI Swim Photoshoot in Madagascar
Holland native Marloes Horst posed on the breathtaking beaches on Madagascar for her 2014 SI Swimsuit Issue feature. The Dutch model, who worked with photographer Derek Kettela, entered the industry several years prior, and has since been featured on the cover of Vogue Australia and Harper’s Bazaar, and has starred in Victoria’s Secret, Levi’s, Calvin Klein and Burberry campaigns.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long and we’re doing it in such a beautiful place,” she gushed while on location with the SI Swimsuit team. “So I’m so excited. I never planned on being a model especially because I was a geek so I never thought I could be a model. My best friend wanted to send some pictures out. So we did it together... ages later and I’m here.”
The 34-year-old posed on the sand and in a bost, rocking a variety of colorful and steamy bikinis. She even bared all for a stunning pic using only a conch shell and her arm to cover herself.
“The boat as a prop was beautiful this morning. It was a really old boat with like beautiful sails and the colors were amazing with all the suits that we had. Obviously they didn’t tell me I was shooting with a chameleon, but the chameleon was really fine. He was really calm and he just walked around on my arm a little bit,” she shared. “On this shoot, I’m already wearing not really much and then MJ comes along with a conch shell and I ended up posing nude with just the shell. In this beautiful place, [we’re] all surrounded with nature, so I wanted to be one with nature.”
Today, the mom of one shares a baby boy named Owen with her partner, Nick Eimers.
