When gusts of wind swept through Raven Lyn’s rookie SI Swimsuit photoshoot in Aruba, the model worked with nature rather than against it.

“Wind definitely poses quite a challenge,” Lyn admitted while on location for the magazine’s 2018 issue. “Because it’s a little bit difficult to harness where this amount of hair is going to end up.”

Ever the professional, she managed to nail all of her beachfront poses with little to no issue and moved with the wind in order to “go with the flow” as best she could. Lyn rocked several incredible bikinis, as well as several one-pieces while working with seasoned photographer Yu Tsai.

“So my techniques for trying to manage this wild mane is just a lot of hand movements,” she explained of her strategy. “Get up in there and move it around, and do what you can.”

Lyn added that Yu Tsai’s direction on set was incredibly helpful in getting the ideal pose down for each snapshot. “He can see the view that I can’t, and he knows what looks good and how to get the shot that we’re going for,” she explained

In addition to her work with the SI Swimsuit Issue five years ago, the model has worked with notable brands such as DKNY and Nine West. She also has been featured in the pages of publications such as Elle Arabia and Vogue Russia. Today, Lyn is represented by Fusion Models New York, London’s Storm Management and Premium Models in Paris.
