SI Swim Search 2020: Brielle Anyea
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
I would wish that the world would always choose to operate in love instead of fear. I would wish that I had five trillion dollars so I could help build generational wealth in different communities, create top of the line schools for children that focus on real life necessities/worldwide history, and buy a ton of land for my family. I would wish that I could reverse the damage done to our planet.
If you could personally witness any event in history, what would it be?
“The Star-Spangled Banner” by Whitney Houston at Super Bowl XXV.
What is something that you have never done that you want to do?
Parasailing or skydiving.
What’s your most embarrassing moment?
I had an exorcist moment in the TSA line after having some bad Italian food. Thankfully, everyone thought I was pregnant with morning sickness, and I was allowed to get through security to board the plane.
What’s the most regrettable beauty trend you’re ver tried?
Bright, pale pink St. Germain lipstick by Mac, and thick, black eyebrows with pale concealer around them.
If you could hear one song performed live by any musician what would it be?
"Is This Love" by Whitesnake and "International Players Anthem" by UGK and Outkast
What’s something people wouldn’t know about you?
I took ballet classes in college and I had 25-plus bunnies when I was a little girl.
In a world full or influencers, who influences you most?
Gabrielle Union reminds me to be resilient, Queen Latifah reminds me to stay true to who I am, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton reminds me it's nothing wrong with being a girly-girl, and Beyonce reminds me to always be the boss of my life
What motivates or inspires you?
What inspires me the most is the women my work indirectly touches. I had no idea being myself and doing things I love would inspire so many women to embrace their power. I take pride in leading by example. If me being my unapologetic self helps you to be everything you were destined to be and reclaim everything you deserve, then my real job is done. Nothing makes me happier than seeing women loved in every way.
Do you have a self-care ritual or a creative pursuit?
Yes, I meditate and write.
What’s the worst holiday gift you ever received?
A pair of knee-high boots that looked like moccasin slippers.
What’s your guilty pleasure snack?
Boom Chicka Pop Sweet & Salty popcorn mixed with spicy lime cashews, Old Bay seasonin, and hot sauce.
Looking back, what advice would you give to your 14-year-old self?
It's not over! You still have a lot to learn and a lot to give. You cannot let the hate and fear of others stop you from bringing light and love into this world. Reclaim your power so that you can be a voice for the voiceless. And for heaven's sake, leave those bad boys alone.
