Soccer Pro Alex Morgan Is a Ray of Sunshine in These String Looks From the British Virgin Islands

Alex Morgan is so much more than just a professional soccer player. The three-time SI Swimsuit model, who made her debut with the magazine with a bodypainting photo shoot in 2012, returned to the fold in ’14, when she traveled to the British Virgin Islands with photographer Adam Franzino. 

The mom of one, who shares a daughter named Charlie with her husband, Servando Carrasco, posed for the brand again in 2019, when she landed on the front of the issue following her breathtaking beach feature in St. Lucia with visual artist Ben Watts.

The 34-year-old made waves in 2019, when she and the U.S. Women’s National Team won the World Cup (securing Morgan’s second title in addition to the 2015 victory), and filed a class action discrimination lawsuit that was resolved in their favor and forever moved the needle on equal pay.

“U.S. Soccer has agreed to equalize the prize money moving forward, obviously we call on FIFA to truly equalize that for men’s and women’s tournaments. That’s really what we set out to do. Equalize on all fronts,” the Southern California native said. “It’s a proud moment for all of us.”

Today, Morgan, who is a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, is on her third season with San Diego Wave FC. She was also just named to the USWNT’s roster to play in the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup.

Following a devastating early exit in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Morgan admitted it would take some time to process the loss, but she is not “planning to hang up [her] boots anytime soon right now,” and just taking things “one day at a time now.”
