Tara Lynn Made History With These 6 Breathtaking Photos From Her 2019 SI Swim Photoshoot in Kangaroo Island
Plus size model and body positivity advocate Tara Lynn made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2019. At the time, she was the oldest rookie to ever be featured in the magazine at the age of 36. Kathy Jacobs took the title the following year when she posed for the publication at 57. Maye Musk, 75, became the oldest cover model in the brand’s history last year, while 82-year-old Martha Stewart was featured on the cover of the annual issue this May.
Lynn has modeled for other major brands including SKIMS, H&M and Cuup. Lynn is represented by IMG Models and was featured on the cover of Vogue Italia in June 2011.
“I don’t know that I specifically wished that there were more girls in magazines that looked like me, but I remember seeing one once as a freshman in high school,” she told SI Swimsuit. “I remember seeing a plus size model—she had like the exact same body as me—wearing a little lavender lace dress, and I suddenly felt like my size was O.K. It was so so validating to see [someone] that did look like me, but I don’t know that I realized that I wanted that. I just know that it made me feel so good and happy to see something that made me feel like I wasn’t just on the outside.”
