We Still Aren’t Over the Ever-Dazzling Kate Upton’s Snowy Swimwear Snaps in Antarctica

We won’t soon forget the legendary Kate Upton’s incredible SI Swimsuit cover photoshoot in Antarctica. It may have taken place a decade ago, but the memories—and the stunning photos—will last forever. It was a photoshoot that we can confidently call iconic, just as the model herself is.

Upton, after all, has been featured in the annual issue a total of six separate years, solidifying her spot among the ranks of SI Swimsuit legends. If her number of appearances isn’t proof enough, posing in a 2014 legends photoshoot in honor of the brand’s 50th anniversary certainly is.

But, today, we’re taking a look back at the year prior, when she took to the snow-covered continent for what has to be one of the most unique cover photoshoots that the brand has ever put together.

In a series of bright white swimsuits to match her surroundings, the now 31-year-old put her skills on display in front of photographer Derek Kettela’s lens. And the series of photos that resulted were simply brilliant in every way.

The destination was not the norm for the brand, or for Upton, either, who has filmed most of her other SI Swimsuit features in tropical locations. Perhaps most impressively, it was only one of the three times that the model has graced the cover of the annual issue, and she made the most of it.

Below are some of the snaps from that iconic trip to the snow-covered Antarctica.
