Dear MJ: Let's Talk Casting!

Dear MJ,

Due to casting being done online for the time being, what types of things can we do to make up for the missing elements you’d normally get from in-person casting? I’m sure there are so many things changing with Swim Search 2021 due to COVID-19. What are you thinking the process will be for developing and creating the 2021 issue?

I have to say you all are doing an INCREDIBLE job sharing who you are and what you are about. We speak daily here at SI Swimsuit about how amazing the Swim Search community is. Am I allowed to be a proud momma of thousands of people? Because I am. There is no doubt in my mind that once the COVID nightmare is behind us all that we will continue to host in-person casting calls. However, the virtual community that you all have created here is far more intimate than the 60 seconds we would get with you in person. We want your feedback so we can make it better and live for all of us year-round and indefinitely. Keep engaging with us on your social platforms, with your Swim Search community and keep using your voices. We see you and we hear you!

Our platform was very quickly created and as we work through some adjustments we will create additional opportunities to get to know one another better and engage with each other even more. Our goal is to create a community of supportive and empowered individuals that regardless of SI Swimsuit model status has opportunities to grow and learn and feel good about themselves at the end of the day.
