Kim Kardashian Channels Marilyn Monroe in Figure-Hugging Pink Gown and Opera Gloves

The reality TV star embodied old Hollywood glamour at an event in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and Barbiecore pink is Kim Kardashian’s best color. The entrepreneur, reality TV star and 2022 SI Swimsuit Issue cover star attended the 2023 LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles on Nov. 4, and we couldn’t help but notice that she channeled a particular old Hollywood movie star with her outfit for the occasion.

Kardashian’s strapless, floor-length hot pink Balenciaga gown featured an epically long train, and she paired the dress with over-the-elbow black opera gloves. The statement outfit bared a striking resemblance to Marilyn Monroe’s costume in the 1953 musical comedy Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, in which her character, Lorelai Lee, performed a jazz number in a similarly glam ensemble (though fans will recall that Monroe’s gloves were pink in the iconic film).

The Kardashians star showed off her outfit in an Instagram carousel on Monday, in which she flaunted the head-turning look, which also featured jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. The 43-year-old mom of four wore her hair slicked back in a ponytail, styled by Chris Appleton, while makeup artist Ariel Tejada opted for bold and beautiful glam.

In one of the Instagram snaps, captured by Mert Alas, Kardashian showed off the backside of her unzipped dress to reveal nude SKIMS shapewear underneath.

“🙌Beyond stunning 🔥,” one of Kardashian’s 364 followers gushed in the comments.

“🩷🩷🩷,” Appleton wrote.

“Wow 🔥😍,” Mario Dedivanovic added.

“Pretty 💗,” another fan applauded.

“STUNNING 👏,” the official Sol de Janeiro IG account cheered.
