Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman traded her red, white and blue Team USA leotards for striking and funky bikinis during her SI Swimsuit debut in 2017. The 29-year-old was photographed by James Macari in Houston for her rookie feature, and returned to the magazine the following year for a breathtaking beach photoshoot in Aruba

The Massachusetts native double-dipped during her sophomore year with the brand and participated in a special and powerful in-studio project called “In Her Own Words” with Taylor Ballantyne in New York City.

“I put a lot of thought into the words I put on my body, where I wanted to place them,” Raisman said, and added how her experience with the brand impacted her. “I truly believe [SI Swimsuit] sends a really important message that women don’t have to be modest to be respected. This year is extra special for me because I want people to understand you can be sexy. You can wear whatever you want. You can still be powerful. You can still have a voice. You can still advocate for change. You can still be a good person. You can still be respected. No matter what you’re wearing. A lot of people are supportive of that but there are still people who don’t understand that and I think it’s important to further the conversation and talk about it.”

Below are five stunning and incredibly impressive photos of the six-time Olympic medalist in Houston.
