Big 12 and SI Swimsuit’s Women’s Empowerment Event Heads to Brigham Young University

The last stop on the college tour, presented by Maybelline, is in Provo, Utah.

Brigham Young University is the last stop along the way on the Be You Women’s Empowerment Series tour. The event, hosted by Big 12 and SI Swimsuit and presented by Maybelline, is heading to Provo, Utah, on Thursday, Oct. 19. 

Five-time brand model and 2020 cover star Jasmine Sanders and Swim Search finalist Berkleigh Wright are set to speak on the “Be Your Best You Panel,” presented by Maybelline, to address topics related to mental health and self-care. This specific event is branded as “Lean into Light TogetHER,” an extension of the school’s 2023 homecoming theme.

The event takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Marriott Center, where various speakers from the university and the local community will deliver short speeches. Members from BYU’s athletics department and other faculty will also host a panel during Thursday’s event. Fun and interactive exhibits will be on display, including headshot stations and beauty bar vanities with makeup artists and Maybelline products.

BYU is the final destination on the 2023 Big 12 Homecoming tour, with previous stops in HoustonCincinnati and Orlando over the last several weeks. 

SI Swimsuit rookies Nicole Williams English and Ellie Thumann joined 2023 cover girl Brooks Nader at the University of Houston on Sept. 14, and opened up about building confidence and the importance of unplugging from social media. 

Thumann, a YouTube star, headed to Cincinnati the following week, along with body neutrality influencer Sixtine and reigning co-Rookie of the Year Christen Harper. The women discussed all things rejection, mental health and more at the University of Cincinnati on Sept. 21.

TikTok star Olivia Ponton and six-time brand model and 2019 cover girl Camille Kostek visited the University of Central Florida on Sept. 28, and spoke about therapy, never giving up on your dreams and building positive communities online.
