Danica Patrick Really Shines in These 5 SI Swim Photos From Florida

The athlete made the most of her time under the sun and had a lot of great snaps to show for it.

In 2008, Danica Patrick stepped out of her race car and into a series of bright white bikinis for her debut feature in the annual SI Swimsuit Issue. She traveled to Singer Island, Fla., with photographer Ben Watts for her photoshoot.

Though she wasn’t quite sure what to expect going in, the athlete thoroughly enjoyed the experience. “This type of shooting is actually really fun. I didn’t know how I would feeling coming in,” she admitted while on set in the Sunshine State. “I don't think I’ve ever really been in a straight swimsuit before for a photoshoot, so I was a little bit nervous but excited, too, because this is a big deal.”

Though she abandoned much of her typical race car driving garb for the feature, she wasn’t completely out of her element. The photoshoot styling had the racing icon posing in a series of white swimsuits paired with different pieces of her race car driving getup, from her entire suit to her gloves and helmet.

Ultimately, she was really grateful for the chance to be included in the annual issue. “I’m so flattered because it’s such a unique and prestigious piece to be apart of,” she said. And, she certainly made the most of it, too.

The now 41-year-old stunned in her Florida photoshoot, posing in front of the deep blue ocean in her best swimwear whites. Though choosing the best photos is impossible, we have curated a few of our favorites below.
