Ellie Thumann Wows in Denim for 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue

The model and content creator traveled to Puerto Rico for her first appearance in the annual edition.

For her rookie appearance in the SI Swimsuit Issue, Ellie Thumann traveled to Puerto Rico with photographer Derek Kettela. While on set, the content creator reflected on her rookie status, sharing, “When women see my photos, I would love for them to take away inspiration towards letting [beauty] radiate from the inside out, because I think that’s really what makes all of these photos and the whole experience more special.”

Thumann made a splashy impression with her unique, chic and versatile denim looks from the photo shoot.

The Phoenix native paid tribute to the beloved, tried-and-true fabric and brought the motif to the beach to create several bold looks. Thumann wore a cropped swimsuit top and high-waisted bottoms in a classic dark wash color from OYE Swimwear.

Thumann got her start in the fashion industry by walking runways with her mother and has worked with brands like Kate Spade and Levi’s. The YouTuber is known for the beauty, fashion and lifestyle content she creates, in which she shares insights on her life, travel and more. Thumann is a mental health advocate who destigmatizes the topic by sharing her own successes and struggles freely.
