Lorena Durán is so thankful for her SI Swimsuit family and we reciprocate that love right back! The three-time brand model just couldn’t stop gushing about the magical experience of being surrounded by fellow powerful women during the magazine’s launch events and at Miami Swim Week.

“I love Sports Illustrated and the support of women. It’s super important to speak about the life, about the passion,” she tells us before the SI Swimsuit Runway Show during Miami Swim Week.

The Seville, Spain native adds that she also appreciates the chance to practice her English when chatting with other models and meeting fans.

“I’m so excited because it’s my third year with the magazine, but this is my first [runway] show, and I feel a lot of emotions,” Durán shares while at the W Hotel South Beach. “I do a lot of runway [work[ in Spain, in New York, but not here with my [SI Swimsuit] family. This runway for SI Swimsuit, it’s super important because I love my family.”

The 29-year-old made her magazine debut in Scrub Island, British Virgin Islands with photographer Josie Clough in 2020 and traveled to Montenegro in 2022 with James Macari. She was captured in Puerto Rico by Ben Watts for this year’s issue.

In addition to her work with SI Swimsuit, Durán is also known as the first curve model to appear in a Victoria’s Secret campaign.

“I’m so excited. I love this place, I love the energy from Miami, the people,” she continues, noting that she also loves the sweet messages she receives from fans. “And when you stay here and you meet with the girls in person, it’s like a present for me. I love [to] help a lot of people—it’s my mission with this work.”
