Paulina Porizkova is a household name at SI Swimsuit. The model and writer, who has been featured in 10 separate issues, made history at the time with her appearance in 2019. At 55 years old, she became the oldest woman to be featured in the magazine at the time after her photo shoot with Yu Tsai in Kenya. 

Kathy Jacobs, 57, took the title in 2021, while Maye Musk, 75, broke the record again in ’22 and 82-year-old Martha Stewart became the oldest woman to grace the magazine’s pages (and cover) following her iconic feature on the front of this year’s magazine.

“Editor [in chief] MJ Day—the power behind the Swimsuit Issue and the woman who has been responsible for broadening the idea of female beauty with gorgeous girls of all colors and sizes—decided she wanted me. By hiring me, MJ had cracked open the door to another possibility: the visible mature woman,” Porizkova wrote in an essay at the time. “Or, let’s just say: the hot old lady.”

The Czech-born supermodel and author made her SI Swimsuit debut in 1983 and landed back-to-back covers in ’84 and ’85.

The mom of two, who shares her sons Jonathan and Oliver with her late husband, Ric Ocasek, published a memoir titled No Filter: The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful last year. In the book, she explains what it was like growing up during the Cold War, details her experience as a young model in Paris and dabbles in telling the story of her whirlwind romance with her husband.
