Marquita Pring entered the modeling industry with a major first gig in 2011: she walked in Jean-Paul Gaultier’s haute couture show during Paris Fashion Week. Shortly after, the 30-year-old fulfilled a lifelong dream by landing an iconic Vogue Italia feature alongside Candice Huffine, Robyn Lawley and Tara Lynn.

The upstate New York native made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2020 and has returned every year since. The former face of Levi & Strauss Co. has been unwavering in her mission to use her platform to encourage women to embrace their changing bodies and natural hair.

“Growing up I never had anyone to relate to, [not] even in magazines or ads. The plus size revolution did not exist like it does now,” she explained. “So once I started modeling, that’s when I started accepting and stepping into myself and especially seeing other women that looked similar to me. I’m here to put myself out there and be myself. The more that we all start like embracing ourselves for our flaws, completely, the happier we will be.”
