Hailey Clauson gets better and better each year she returns to the SI Swimsuit Issue. The 28-year-old model made her magazine debut in 2015, when she posed for Yu Tsai in Kauai, Hawai’i, and also participated in a unique bodypaint spread in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

She landed the cover the following year after traveling to Turks and Caicos with photographer James Macari. Since her rookie year, Clauson has appeared in a total of seven SI Swimsuit Issues. She reunited with Macari in the Dominican Republic for this year’s magazine, where she donned a number of Barbiecore-inspired swimwear looks.

While Clauson rocked plenty of hot pink and bold patterns on the beach, one look in particular stands out as a favorite, and the co-owner and creative director of Margaux Agency just so happened to share an Instagram snap of the suit on Aug. 11.

The Mara Hoffman two-piece is just one example of SI Swimsuit models who are embracing the gingham trend this summer. Last year’s cover girl, Yumi Nu, rocked a similar black-and-white printed bikini on TikTok recently, while Hannah Ferguson donned a string version of the stylish swimsuit earlier in the spring.

After she shared the swimsuit pic, tons of Clauson’s 588,000 IG followers quickly flooded the comments section with heart eye and flame emojis. If you’re interested in rocking a similar look at the pool or beach this summer, check out these comparable styles to emulate Clauson’s classic swimwear vibes.
