Maye Musk’s SI Swim Cover in Belize Was a Bright and Beautiful Affair

The model and dietician was featured on the front of the 2022 magazine.

When Maye Musk landed the cover of the 2022 SI Swimsuit Issue, she became the oldest brand model in history to do so. And while her record was surpassed by Martha Stewart with the publication of last year’s magazine, Musk’s photo shoot in Belize is just as stunning today as it was two years ago. 

The 75-year-old dietician, model and mother was photographed by Yu Tsai for her cover girl moment with the brand. Musk recently reunited with the visual artist for the 60th anniversary legends photo shoot at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. So, while we eagerly await the release of the 60th anniversary SI Swimsuit Issue in May, we figured a trip down memory lane to reflect upon Musk’s first brand feature would be in order. 

Speaking about her cover girl moment shortly after its release in 2022, Musk told People that she hoped seeing her feature would allow other women to embrace themselves just as they are. 

“I do think it’s going to make women feel more comfortable in their 70s when they swim, as well as women in their 20s and 30s,” she told the outlet. “When women go to the beach, we’re kind of shy about our bodies, but men will walk around, looking terrible, and they don’t care. I think we have to not care that much.”
