Celebrate Olivia Rodrigo’s Album Announcement With These Pretty Pink Seaside Styles

Olivia Rodrigo surprised fans on Thursday, April 2, by announcing that her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, will be dropping on June 12.
The singer-songwriter has been hinting at the release for months now, and eagle-eyed fans have been hard at work uncovering clues. Then on Wednesday, April 1, there was an unexpected plot twist after Rodrigo archived all of the photos on her Instagram account before posting a single image: the album’s cover art. This marks the Grammy Award winner’s third album, following her mega-popular debut Sour and her sensational sophomore effort, Guts.
Besides the title of the new work being significantly longer than her previous four-letter efforts, another notable difference stood out to fans. Rodrigo has traded in her signature purple shades for a pretty pastel pink color palette, as seen in the mini dress she wore on the cover.
So, to celebrate Rodrigo’s exciting album announcement and new pastel era, we dove back into the SI Swimsuit archives to resurface a handful of our favorite pink looks from over the years!
Penny Lane

Lane certainly looked pretty in pink when she traveled with SI Swimsuit and photographer Ben Watts to Porto and the North, where she posed among the vibrant greenery. Her two-piece swimsuit by Norma Kamali definitely evoked the same soft, sweet energy as Rodrigo’s album art, further accentuated by the cozy-looking cardigan from Edikted that topped everything off.

Lais Ribeiro

While a tad brighter than Rodrigo’s pastel shade, Ribero’s stunning sophomore shoot in Sacramento, Calif., captured by photographer Anne Menke, absolutely evoked the same feelings that come with being in love. Her beautiful monokini by Agent Provocateur, featuring unique criss-cross ties and a daring neckline, matched perfectly with the surrounding florals, making for a romantic final snapshot.

Kamie Crawford

Crawford kept the pastel pink theme going strong with this textured two-piece set by Ola Vida, which she modeled during her stellar second shoot with SI Swimsuit. On the beaches of Dominica, the model waded into the sparkling waters alongside photographer Yu Tsai, where she stood out against the bustling backdrop thanks to her equally colorful attire.

Brianna LaPaglia

LaPaglia took pink to the poolside for her digital issue cover feature, soaking in the sun in a beautiful bandeau bikini by SAME Los Angeles. Visiting the luxe Austin Estate in La Quinta, Calif., with photographer Katherine Goguen, the final snapshots were a pastel daydream. In fact, we could totally see these colorful photos on an album cover all their own!
