Black-Owned Swim Brands to Love and Support

Shop in support of the Black Lives Matter movement

In the wake of George Floyd’s death and the subsequent rallies and protests, people across the country have been taking action and are seeking new avenues for change. Shopping in support of black-owned businesses is one sustainable way to lend our support. Here are 15 of our favorite black-owned swimwear brands:

Misses Brie

SI Swimsuit swim search finalist Brielle Anyea’s size-inclusive swimwear line is not one to miss. The line is shape enhancing with vibrant colors and an assortment of beautiful prints. Brielle recently donated half of her swimsuit sales proceeds to organizations which have been assisting peaceful protesters though providing PPE and bailouts.

Mint Swim

Mint Swim features elegant and sexy pieces with fits that hug all the right places. “As a black woman, mother, and business owner .... it’s important that I do my part in all this to aid in a better/safer/ more kind future for my sons, for your sons as well,” said company founder and owner Draya Michele in a recent Instagram post.

Casta Mira

Casta Mira designs are elegant, timeless and highlight femininity.

Avid Swim

Sustainable, sexy and made in Brooklyn, Avid Swim is currently offering a limited edition collection of which all proceeds will go to Black Lives Matter

Andrea lyamah

Owner/designer Dumebi Iyamah describes this collection as “Inspired by color, ethnic cultures, nature and design elements that stay true to creating authentic clothing and resort wear with hints of a retro yet contemporary edge in design.”

A favorite of our editorial team, BFYNE Swim brings nothing but joy through exotic prints, vibrant colors and dramatic shapes. The brand has shown tremendous support of the BLM movement via Instagram by showcasing other black-owned businesses.
