SI Swimsuit Models Show off Coachella Style with Crochet, Pastels and Cowboy Hats
The sun is out, and the first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has finally passed. SI Swimsuit models did not disappoint with their unique outfits this year.
From Sara Sampaio’s ideal spring butterfly look to Olivia Culpo’s “bride-chella” getup, everyone came dressed to impress with cool, comfortable and chic clothing and accessories.
This year’s trends included lots of crochet, cowboy hats, pastel colors, vintage sunglasses, mesh dresses and combat boots. Here’s a breakdown of standout looks from last year’s Coachella.
We’ll see what the second weekend brings and which trends make it on to runways for the rest of 2023.
Katie Austin
The fitness influencer repped her BFF Christen Harper’s new swimwear line and wore the collection’s “Dune” coverup mesh dress with black lingerie underneath. Austin and Harper were named co-Rookies of the Year together last October.
Sara Sampaio
The two-time SI Swimsuit model rocked the classic The Little Mermaid purple-and-green combo. She donned a sweet butterfly-style top and mini shorts, both made out of a lightweight crochet material.
Olivia Culpo
The newly engaged model is taking full advantage of her bride-to-be status. She rocked a gorgeous all-white number featuring lots of lace, statement accessories and a good old cowboy hat.
Olivia Ponton
The TikTok star went full grunge-chic at Coachella. She donned knee-high combat boots, sheer black tights, underwear as pants and a black sweatshirt shrug.
Gabriella Halikas
The 2021 Swim Search finalist celebrated her 26th birthday in style in the desert. She sported a baby blue fishnet dress with a matching set underneath for a stylish monotone look. She accessorized with tons of jewelry and vintage sunglasses.
Kelsey Merritt
The Instagram fashion icon loves a good crochet moment. Merritt kept herself cool, comfortable and on-trend with patterned pants, a scoop-neck tank and cute layered accessories.
Irina Shayk
The Russian model channeled her inner Catwoman with a sleek black bodysuit featuring a major chest cut-out. Her glam reflected the sultry outfit with a strong cat eye moment, chunky black sunglasses and lace-up combat boots.
Josephine Skriver
The JOJA founder prioritized comfort and opted for a good old bralette, button-up and blue jeans combo. She pulled her short hair back into a half-pony and left two thin face-framing pieces loose.
Nicole Williams English
The mom of one donned a NASCAR-inspired cropped tube top, high-waisted distressed denim shorts, a leather jacket and tall black lace-up boots from Larroudé.
Ellie Thumann
The 2023 rookie rocked the coolest maxi skirt we have ever seen, featuring a flower-shaped cutout at the top. She paired the Army green bottoms with an itty bitty white bralette and tons of jewelry. Her day two and three looks were just as amazing.
