Sophie Cunningham is a WNBA player, podcast host and analyst. In 2026, she added the job of SI Swimsuit model to her résumé, traveling to sunny Captiva Island, Fla., located just off the coast of Fort Myers. There, the basketball star joined the magazine for her debut shoot as a featured athlete, photographed by Katherine Goguen.


The versatile guard was selected as the 13th overall pick by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2019 WNBA draft. Known for her high-energy style and three-point shooting—she made an impressive 43.2 percent of her treys during the 2025 season—she was then traded to the Indiana Fever in 2025. And as of April 2026, the athlete is an unrestricted free agent.


When she’s not on the court or cohosting the Show Me Something podcast with her high school bestie-turned-reality TV star, West Wilson, she’s partnering with major brands like Adidas, Quest Nutrition and more.
