6 SI Swimsuit Snapshots That Have Serious ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Music Video Vibes

While we were locked in our SI Swimsuit tower, these models were clearly honing their powers.

It’s been just over a week since Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl was released, and the album has already gone on to break records.

While all of the tracks on the album are, of course, fantastic fun, one of the best parts of the pop sensation’s latest era is the unique fashion aesthetic—something that was on full display in the music video for her new single, “The Fate of Ophelia.”

With that in mind, we looked back through the SI Swimsuit archive and found six snapshots from over the years that definitely have a similar energy to the various stylish looks Swift wore in her music video. Check them out below!

Yumi Nu in Belize

Swift begins the music video dressed as the titular Ophelia, wearing a dramatic floor-length white gown with her signature blonde hair cascading all around her.

While it might not be a gown, this silk MESHKI two-piece from Nu’s breathtaking 2024 shoot, photographed by Derek Kettela, definitely captured the same soft, romantic energy, with the model looking equally ethereal while posing on the sun-soaked sands.

Megan Fox in the Dominican Republic

And this photo from Fox’s 2023 shoot, photographed by Greg Swales, also captured an undeniable “showgirl” vibe, particularly the sequence where Swift dances in a black tiled midi dress while performing in a nightclub (you’ve definitely seen this part, as the choreography has pretty much taken over TikTok).

This incredible dress by Celia Kritharioti, paired with gold bikini bottoms from SKIMS, mimicked the 1960s style of that center stage moment, which was only strengthened by Fox’s sultry dark hair, coincidentally matching the singer’s wig in that same scene.

Skylar Diggins in Guana Island

When Swift hits the chorus of the song for a second time, the video cuts to a scene styled in all blue—the same eye-popping shade that Diggins’s lovely bikini was in her 2014 feature with the brand, captured by photographer Adam Franzino.

In fact, the athlete could easily be superimposed into the music video in this ensemble and blend right in, given her effortless beauty and cool, carefree vibes.

Brittany Mahomes in Belize

This one’s a little meta, given that Swift and Mahomes have been spotted together during Kansas City Chiefs games while both of their significant others are hitting the turf.

Still, there’s no denying that the mom of three’s bright red one-piece by Mugler, which she wore for her 2024 shoot captured by Tsai, was a perfect match for Swift’s classic “showgirl” look—all that was missing on Mahomes was a feathered boa and matching headdress.

Alix Earle in Miami, Fla.

Earle’s glamorous Miami hotel room shoot, captured by Tsai in 2024 for SI Swimsuit’s first-ever digital cover feature, seemed to predict the fun and flirty aesthetic used towards the end of Swift’s music video, when she and her Eras Tour dancers partied in a packed hotel room.

Honestly, even Earle’s glittering, layered two-piece set by Christian Cowan mimicked the sparkling gold mini dress the artist had on.

Penny Lane in Zurich, Switzerland

As the video ends, we get a shot of Swift decompressing in a green bath, mimicking the cover art of the album itself.

Similarly, Lane relaxed in a beautiful glass pool for her second shoot with the brand, which hit newsstands this past May. From the moody lighting to the perfect pose, this stunning shot snapped by Kettela definitely kept it 100 (as Swift’s own lyrics would say).
